Nous préparons actuellement une grande exposition, Flux et Reflux, la Caverne d'Internet, de Fred Forest, qui ouvrira le 1er juillet aux Moulins, à Albi.
Fred Forest revisite la caverne de Platon en constituant un gigantesque réseau d'échanges dans le monde, dont les connexions créeront le contenu visible de l'exposition, mots, commentaires, images, modes d'apparition. 
Sur un mode critique, quelques points essentiels du projet : l'exposition se réinvente constamment, elle n'a pas de forme stable, elle nait d’un processus et d'un échange des participants avec le "scénario" proposé par l'artiste. Elle se matérialise par la captation d'images des participants, transformées en ombres mouvantes sur les murs de la "caverne", par le choix de thèmes dans une liste donnée par l'artiste, par l'apparition d'images suscités par ces choix. 
Le sens du projet concerne les relations humaines par les nouvelles technologies, la dimension critique par rapport au flot d'images qui nous entoure, le partage des savoirs, l'implication créative de chacun dans l'apparition du réel, l'expérience du silence au milieu du chaos.
C’est ce qu’André Rouillé nomme « La nouvelle infigurabilité du monde » dans son édito du 26 mai dernier. L´actuelle mondialisation, où l´art s´inscrit dans le «flux des échanges» aux côtés d´une profusion exponentielle d´images de toutes sortes, ne se traduit pas par une meilleure figuration du monde. Bien au contraire. Les promesses de transparence du monde et de libéralisation des activités se muent en réalité d´un spectacle permanent et d´un contrôle toujours plus tatillondes individus. C´est à ce défi du devenir infigurable du monde que les artistes sont confrontés, et qu´ils doivent esthétiquement relever pour que leurs œuvres soient en résonance avec la réalité d´aujourd´hui.
Les mutations politiques et culturelles dont le souffle nous atteint mettant en cause nos certitudes les plus ancrées au travers les évolutions qui se font jour en Tunisie, en Egypte, en Syrie, en Lybie, au Yemen, et aujourd’hui au plus proche de nous, en Grèce et en Espagne…
Nous serions très heureux de votre participation à ce projet ne serait-ce que par sa diffusion active autour de vous et éventuellement en créant dans vos espaces un point de connexion.

Ebb and Flow, the Internet cave

In the 1970s, as a pioneer of video art, and media and network art, Fred Forest, who was born in 1933, ushered in the concept of sociological art. Then in the 1980s he initiated the concept of the aesthetics of communication. The ethical and aesthetic dimensions join together to put the human factor at the heart of his approach, especially through the involvement of different kinds of public in his works.
His project for Les Moulins Albigeois questions Plato’s cave in the Internet age. The shadows in Plato’s allegory are transposed in contemporary forms, by a
staged presentation of the public strolling about accompanied by their shadows, with texts and
video projections operating alternately. Other shadows and participations arrive through the
network of Internet connections in the world.

A connection kit, in the form of a minimal recording studio and a user’s manual is proposed to the 120 French Institutes throughout the world, in conjunction with the French Institute in Paris, as well as other venues, such as the Fred Forest exhibitions currently on view in New York and Sao Paulo. A twofold network is thus activated, by the physical presence of the visitors in the exhibition at Les Moulins and by the virtual presence of connected publics.
Fred Forest is at work on a gigantic worldwide network, whose virtual and real participants give shape to the show, connection by connection. The artist has devised his project like a screenplay whose participating casts make the film by constantly renewing it. This collective work is a metaphor of a democratic dynamic. A journey like an initiatory plunge into the belly of a society hallmarked by information.
