Fourth edition of the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean - 24/09/2020

Standing together for the future of Humanity

Presided by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the 4th Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2020. This major fundraising event will again welcome international artists and philanthropists for an exclusive gala night in favor of the Foundation’s worldwide initiatives for a sustainable Ocean.

Representing more than 70% of the planet’s surface and 97% of the biosphere, the global Ocean plays a key role in climate regulation and absorbs 25% of the carbon dioxide released in the atmosphere. The Monte-Carlo Gala aims at meeting the challenge of a preserved Ocean, for the next generations and for our Planet’s future.

This prestigious evening, organized by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Mr. Milutin Gatsby, Global Fundraising Chairman, has positioned itself as one of the most memorable charity events in the world, offering guests once-in-a-life time experience. On the program of this 2020 edition on the Terraces of the Opera of Monaco: red carpet, cocktail reception, dinner prepared by a Chef and performances by international artists. An exceptional auction will punctuate the night, filled with unique experiences, collectibles and memorabilia, and a selection of fine art from some of the world’s most important artists.

Proceeds from the auction will support the Foundation’s initiatives dedicated to the Ocean: the development of marine protected areas, the protection of threatened marine species, the mitigation of the impact of climate change and acidification on the Ocean, the promotion of innovation and the fight against plastic pollution.

Since the very first edition of the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean, international celebrities gave us their support, lending their voices to the essential cause of protecting the Ocean.

The 2019 edition welcomed as Masters of Ceremony Nicole Kidman, Uma Thurman and Andy Garcia. Past event chairs and co-chairs included Patricia Arquette, Alina Baikova, Li Bingbing, Adrien Brody, Pierce Brosnan, Gerard Butler, Li Chen, Hailey Clauson, Toni Garrn, Hugh Grant, G.E.M, Goldie Hawn, Constance Jablonski, Robert F. In the occasion of the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean 2017 and 2018, the 'Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Special Award’ went to Leonardo DiCaprio and Orlando Bloom in recognition of their outstanding work and commitment for environmental preservation. World-renowned actor, activist, director, and producer Robert Redford was honored in 2019.

The Monte-Carlo gala for the Global Ocean is organized by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation with the support of the Monaco Yacht Show, the oceanographic Institute, the Yacht Club of Monaco, the Société des Bains de Mer and the Monaco Private Label.

Présidé par SAS le Prince Albert II de Monaco, le 4e Gala de Monte-Carlo pour l'Océan Mondial aura lieu le jeudi 24 septembre 2020. Cette grande levée de fonds accueillera à nouveau artistes et philanthropes internationaux pour une soirée de gala exclusive en faveur de la Initiatives mondiales de la Fondation pour un océan durable.
Représentant plus de 70% de la surface de la planète et 97% de la biosphère, l'océan mondial joue un rôle clé dans la régulation du climat et absorbe 25% du dioxyde de carbone libéré dans l'atmosphère. Le Gala de Monte-Carlo vise à relever le défi d'un océan préservé, pour les générations futures et pour l'avenir de notre planète.
Cette soirée prestigieuse, organisée par la Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco et M. Milutin Gatsby, Président de Global Fundraising, s'est positionnée comme l'un des événements caritatifs les plus mémorables au monde, offrant aux invités une expérience unique. Au programme de cette édition 2020 sur les Terrasses de l'Opéra de Monaco: tapis rouge, cocktail dînatoire, dîner préparé par un Chef et performances d'artistes internationaux. Une vente aux enchères exceptionnelle rythmera la nuit, remplie d'expériences uniques, d'objets de collection et de souvenirs, ainsi que d'une sélection d'œuvres d'art de certains des artistes les plus importants du monde.
Le produit de la vente aux enchères soutiendra les initiatives de la Fondation dédiées à l'océan: le développement des aires marines protégées, la protection des espèces marines menacées, l'atténuation de l'impact du changement climatique et de l'acidification sur l'océan, la promotion de l'innovation et la lutte contre pollution plastique.
Depuis la toute première édition du gala de Monte-Carlo pour l'océan mondial, des célébrités internationales nous ont apporté leur soutien, prêtant leur voix à la cause essentielle de la protection de l'océan.
L'édition 2019 a accueilli en tant que maîtres de cérémonie Nicole Kidman, Uma Thurman et Andy Garcia. À l'occasion du gala de Monte-Carlo pour l'océan mondial 2017 et 2018, le `` Prix spécial de la Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco '' a été décerné à Leonardo DiCaprio et Orlando Bloom en reconnaissance de leur travail exceptionnel et de leur engagement pour la préservation de l'environnement. L'acteur, activiste, réalisateur et producteur de renommée mondiale Robert Redford a été honoré en 2019.
